OPRAH WINFREY ( more Oprah Winfrey quotes) No matter who you are, what you do, or how far you think you have to go, you have been tapped by a force greater than yourself to step into your God-given calling. I believe every one of us is born with a purpose. PAUL TILLICHįaith sees the invisible, believes the unbelievable, and receives the impossible. It is not a movement of a special section or a special function of (our) total being. Faith is the most centered act of the human mind. It happens in the center of the personal life and includes all its elements. RAM DASSįaith as ultimate concern is an act of the total personality. MAHALIA JACKSONįaith is what is left after all your beliefs have been blown to hell. KIMBERLY JONES-POTHIERįaith and prayer are the vitamins of the soul man cannot live in health without them. LEWISįaith means you have it in your heart before you have it in your circumstances. HEBREWS 11:1įaith is the art of holding on to things your reason has once accepted, in spite of your changing moods. Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. That is the definition of faith – acceptance of that which we imagine to be true, that which we cannot prove. To one without faith, no explanation is possible. To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. SAINT AUGUSTINEįaith is unseen but felt, faith is strength when we feel we have none, faith is hope when all seems lost. MITCH ALBOMįaith is to believe what you do not see the reward of this faith is to see what you believe. You are how you act, not just how you believe. There were many dark moments when my faith in humanity was sorely tested, but I would not and could not give myself up to despair. MAX LUCADOįaiths… all faiths… are admonitions that there is something we cannot understand, something to which we are accountable. It is the belief that God will do what is right. And the best part, even if you're introverted and don't know what to say, all you need to say is, "Keep going, we're going to get through this together.Faith is not the belief that God will do what you want. There are opportunities to encourage around every corner. Look around your neighborhood and see if there are any elderly neighbors who may need a grocery run or some lawn maintenance done. So give it a try! Make a list of the folks in your life that you maybe haven't been in touch with in a while and send them a message on Facebook or better yet, go old fashioned and send them good (old fashioned) snail mail. Encouragement can show up in so many ways and it can often be even more uplifting to give it to others than to receive it. Whether it's a helpful or wise word, like one of the verses from our 25 Bible Verses About Encouraging Others, a hot meal delivered to your doorstep from a neighbor, a text or note from a close friend, your parents watching the kids and giving you a date night, or a literal helping hand when you've got a big cross-country move. Whatever it is, it's times like this that we could all use a little encouragement. Or maybe a global pandemic comes out of nowhere and starts threatening your sense of certainty or future plans. Sometimes there are times in life that you hit the metaphorical wall or you're about to step out and do what you've always dreamed of pursuing.
